I spent 25 years as SVP of Worldwide Content Sales at HBO. Traveling the world and selling some of the best TV programs ever created was a dream job. Yet, every time I sat in a meeting, I felt like one of my colleagues or I would end up saying, “Well, we aren’t curing cancer or saving lives,” as a way of reminding ourselves that no matter how importantly we took our jobs, it was just entertainment (which yes, has its own benefits).
As the media industry began to change and I moved to Central Florida, I wanted the second half of my career dedicated to giving back. I entered the nonprofit sector, became a Board Chair for four years, and quickly realized it was like the wild, wild west. Nonprofits are filled with inspiring, creative people, but they could often benefit from some more corporate structure. The combination of the two can build something amazing.
As a journalism major, I have always loved writing and research. My years of sales have honed my skills for pitching programs I am passionate about, and I’m fueled by “winning” that sale. I am a people person who loves to listen and learn to figure out the best approach to work with another company. In my quest for lifelong learning, I’ve decided to capitalize on all these skills by Grant Writing and matching companies that want to give with the nonprofits that will use funds to make a difference in the world.
Originally from NYC and Toronto (with dual citizenship in both countries), I live in Winter Park, FL, with my husband and two teenage girls. My nonprofit passions currently include dance, theater, literacy, families, women, children, inclusivity, special needs, and other marginalized communities.

"Beyond Grant Writing, Jen also facilitated incredible introductions and provided support, research, and recommendations beyond the initial scope of work. She prioritized our needs over her own, ensuring our mission to support disabled people in the workforce was advanced. Jen's prompt, kind, and professional approach along with her creative problem-solving makes her a standout professional."
